Python Hitches A Ride On A Train To Sydney

Tuesday evening, while on a train traveling the Kiama to Sydney route, some passengers discovered they were sharing a car with a python.

Train commutes can be filled with all sorts of hassles, like overcrowding and delays, but those pale in comparison to what some travelers in Australia recently experienced.
Tuesday evening, while on a train traveling the Kiama to Sydney route, some discovered they were sharing a car with a Children's python, notes Australia's ABC News.
Granted, it was a small one and not likely capable of eating anything larger than a small mammal, but, nonetheless, its presence was likely quite alarming.
According to spokesperson for NSW TrainLink, “Customers were moved from the carriage which was then locked off and arrangements were made for a snake handler to meet the train on arrival at Central Station."
The effort to remove the non-venomous snake from the car was a success and the reptile is now in the care of the individual who captured it.
The Sydney Morning Herald notes that "it was not clear how the snake came to be on the train."
