A Kiwi captured the scary moment his plane landed in Wellington, New Zealand, during high winds from Cyclone Cook on April 14.Max Havaux was bound for Wellington from Auckland for the long Easter weekend when Air New Zealand offered to change the flights due to the approaching cyclone. Havaux decided to fly earlier in the day in hopes of missing the storm.
Once aboard, the pilot informed the passengers that there was only a 50 percent chance of being able to land in Wellington. Otherwise, the plane would be forced to fly back to Auckland.
Havaux had nothing but praise for the pilot, saying the situation was “controlled” and that “Air New Zealand have the best pilots.” Credit: Max Havaux via Storyful
