8-year-old learns how to drive from YouTube, goes to McDonald’s

EAST PALESTINE, OHIO — An Ohio boy proved that neither age nor lack of a driver’s license should stop you from satisfying an intense craving for fast food.

WKBN reports that the 8-year-old had a deep hankering for a cheeseburger on Sunday night, which prompted him to look up how to drive on YouTube.

While his parents were fast asleep, the kid got the keys to his dad’s locked van, and took his 4-year-old sister on short drive to his town’s McDonald’s, which was a mile and a half away.

Amazingly, the boy didn’t hit anything along the way. Witnesses say he followed traffic rules and safely arrived at his destination.

After pulling into the drive thru, McDonald’s workers thought they were being pranked and the children’s parents were merely hiding in the back seat. But it soon became clear that the pair were unsupervised.

The van was quickly surrounded by adults, and a patrolman was called to the scene. After being approached by the cop, the boy realized he might be in trouble and burst out crying.

Really though, the authorities were more amused than anything else, and say they won’t be filing any charges. The kids were later picked up by their parents, but only after they’d had their fill of cheeseburgers, fries and nuggets.

And even though the boy might still get in trouble at home, he at least got his fast food dreams fulfilled.
