The new Opel Zafira is by far one of the most famous Opel vehicles not only in Europe, but in the rest of the world as well. Its popularity can only be matched by Astra, and the competition between the two would be tight. Originally, Zafira started off as a compact MVP, or a multi-purpose vehicle. Since 2011, it has been marketed as a large MVP, and it became known as the Zafira Touring. It is also manufactured by other subsidiaries such as Vauxhall and Holden. The 2018 Opel Zafira is going to be a very interesting vehicle, and we are going to discuss some of the changes made to the previous model.

Now, one of the most recognizable features of large vehicles is the third row of seats. Opel Zafira can comfortably fit up to eight passengers, including the driver. While the original Zafira used to rest on the T-body platform, the new one is sitting atop the Delta II platform. This lightweight platform is made out of steel and aluminum, and there is probably some carbon fiber in there as well. This architecture makes the Opel Zafira a very light and rigid vehicle at the same time. The wheelbase has been extended to the incredible 105.7-inches, making it one of the longest vehicles in the class. Aside from this, expect to see an improved grille and enlarged bumpers. These changes will of course make the new Zafira look even more aggressive and massive. The headlights will be equipped with Adaptive Forward Directed Illumination technology.

Speaking of technology, the cabin is going to be equipped with Opel’s IntelliLink infotainment system. It is going to come with both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. The Opel OnStar feature enables the use of 4G LTE connectivity and WiFi hotspot
