2018 Opel Corsa- Release

  • 7 tahun yang lalu
The German manufacturer is back, with what seems to be a new Opel Corsa. This would make it the sixth-generation vehicle, and a welcome addition to the family. This is mainly because the previous model has been around for quite some time. The fifth-generation Opel Corsa was introduced in 2014, underpinned by the same platform as Fiat Punto. However, this platform is even older, which would for all practical purposes make the previous Corsa ten years old. This is fairly old in the automotive world. The new model was spied testing under heavy camouflage, which reduces all of the news about the 2018 model to just rumors.

We can definitely expect for the new Corsa to come with a different platform. Supposedly, the same platform that underpins the current Opel Astra will also find its way to the new Corsa model. This upgraded aluminum architecture will make the new model lighter, which translates into better fuel efficiency. Since Astra is a slightly shorter vehicle than Corsa, we can expect the new model to become just a couple of inches shorter in length as well. The overall size will largely remain the same, based on the size of the hood of the new Corsa.

The grille is going to be slightly raised, making room for a chromed bar in the middle which is going to sport the Opel symbol. Headlights are also likely going to get an upgrade. The daytime running lights can already be spotted on the test mules, and we also expect them to utilize the BiXenon technology. This new redesign will make the car look far more aggressive and menacing when viewed from the front. The old, elegant Corsa that we have learned to love over the years is still present though.
