April Ryan On Spicer's 'Stop Shaking Your Head' Comment: I Was In 'Disbelief'

April Ryan reflected on her Tuesday exchange with Sean Spicer during an appearance on CNN's New Day.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told American Urban Radio Networks’ April Ryan to "stop shaking her head."
The heated exchange itself became a major news story and many have since criticized Spicer for lashing out at Ryan.
A Washington Post piece noted, in part, "...the more we see of him, the nastier he appears. "
Ryan appeared on CNN's New Day Wednesday morning and said she was in "disbelief" during that interaction with Spicer.
She added, "I am a reporter - just trying to get answers. It was a simple question, it was a legitimate question...I dropped my head, I didn't shake my head at first. I did shake my head towards the end in disbelief."
Ryan said, however, "I'm going back today to do my job and he's going to do his job. And I take it for what it is."
Their Tuesday's exchange began with Ryan asking, "how does this administration try to revamp its image?  Two and a half months in, you’ve got this Yates story today, you’ve got other things going on, you’ve got Russia, you’ve got wiretapping..."
Spicer fired back, "No, we don’t have that...You’ve got Russia. If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russian connection."
The press secretary also noted, "It seems like you are hell bent on trying to make sure that whatever image you want to tell about this White House stays."
As Ryan seemed unconvinced by Spicer's response, he said, “Please stop shaking your head...”
