ISLAMABAD: Just after a day when Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed concerns over inappropriate distribution of natural gas among provinces, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has responded that ‘uninterrupted supply of gas to all provinces has been ensured’, ARY News reported.

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has been directed to resolve the issues relating to the new gas connections in the country including Sindh, the minister said in a statement.

“Government is aiming to ensure supply of gas to all provinces and Chief Minister of Sindh has been briefed in this regard”, he added.

Moreover, he said that his ministry has timely addressed the problem of OGRA.

Cchief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah yesterday registered a complaint to the government by writing a letter to prime minister Nawaz Sharif indicating lion’s share of the gas projects approved for Punjab despite Sindh shares largest contribution in the natural gas production of the country.

“The federal government is neglecting the province of Sindh, which shares largest contribution in Natural Gas production, by initiating 97 gas schemes, most of them, in Punjab”, he wrote to the premier.
