CAMBODIA — An endangered Asian elephant was shocked to death after knocking over a electrical tower last week.
The animal was rubbing against a tower in southwest Cambodia last Tuesday.
The elephant was shocked twice, a Cambodia Environment Ministry official told English language newspaper The Khmer Times. Once when the tower collapsed on it, and again when the elephant came into contact the wires.
Officials say the five-ton creature will get buried at a local zoo.
