Iraqi government forces, backed by the U.S., made their way to ISIS-held areas in Mosul, including the airport and military base. The federal police alongside elite interior forces engaged in gun battle with the terror group, which was armed with suicide bombs. The militants dropped bomb-carrying drones to attack the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Forces, who were coming from the opposite end of the city. The offense includes 100,000 Iraqi troops, Kurdish fighters, and Shi'ite militias. ISIS militants are utilizing tunnels and hidden passageways to fight among civilians, according to Reuters.
