North Korean ballistic missile test an 'armed provocation' says Seoul

North Korea has hailed its latest ballistic missile test a ‘success,’ sparking international condemnation.
The country’s state broadcaster described the projectile as a “surface-to-surface medium-to-long-range ballistic missile.”

The test was attended by leader Kim Jong-un and is a new type of strategic device said to be capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
Kim Jong-un is reported to be delighted with the trial, which he boasted “adds to the tremendous might of the country.”

South Korea has condemned the test labeling it as an armed provocation.
The United States, Japan and South Korea have requested an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the incident.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on a visit to the US, said the launch was “absolutely intolerable.”
The US has vowed to back Japan 100 percent.
South Korea and US officials said the missile flew in an easterly direction towards the Sea of Japan for about 500km.
