President Trump’s first weeks in office have caused many to ponder both his and the nation’s values, and, on Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg made it known she is among them.

While co-hosting ABC's 'The View,' Goldberg said, “We have a leader who's repeatedly demeaned women, wants to defund organizations that benefit women, calling on the media to shut up, specifically wants to give preferential treatment based on religion, are these values really much different than the Taliban's?"
She further commented, “If you’re saying to the media 'shut up,' that’s what [the Taliban does]. Maybe they didn’t start out chopping people’s heads off, maybe they started out differently...It’s tricky, because we’re saying to people, 'here are our American values,' and then we’re saying on the same token stuff that sounds exactly like the stuff we’re fighting."
American values were a recurring theme in many of the acceptance speeches given at Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Many, including Ashton Kutcher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Sarah Paulson, addressed Trump’s immigration ban, notes Fortune.
Kutcher voiced support to those protesting at airports, while Louis-Dreyfus called the order “un-American.”
