Former President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara have agreed to do the coin toss at the Super Bowl in Houston this Sunday, reports the Houston Chronicle.
The Texas-based couple were invited to do so by the National Football League, and on Wednesday, commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed their participation.
According to The Hill, the former president, who is 92, had been hospitalized for issues including pneumonia but was released on Monday.
Meanwhile, Barbara Bush is also reportedly doing better after receiving medical treatment for what has been described as “fatigue and coughing.”
Fox News reports that the upcoming event will mark the second time President Bush performs the coin toss at a Super Bowl; the first was when he was still in office for the 2002 matchup between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams.
This weekend, the Patriots are back in the championship game against the Atlanta Falcons.
