YOGA MUDRA Gesture - How to form Atmanjali Mudra ️ #01/59

  • vor 7 Jahren
How do yoga mudras work?

According to Ayurveda, diseases are caused due to an imbalance in the body, which in turn is caused by lack or excess of any of the five elements.

Our fingers have the characteristics of these elements and each of these five elements serves a specific and important function within the body. The fingers are essentially electrical circuits. The use of mudras adjusts the flow of energy - affecting the balance of air, fire, water, earth, ether - and facilitate healing.

Mudras create a subtle connection with the instinctual patterns in the brain and influence the unconscious reflexes in these areas. The internal energy is, in turn, balanced and redirected, affecting change in the sensory organs, glands, veins and tendons.

Atmanjali mudra represents the gesture of prayer. In India, gesture in Atmanjali mudra represents greeting or thanks. It shows respect for fellow human beings. Joining hands in front of heart completes the Atmanjali Mudra.

1) Firstly Place of your hands together in front of your heart chakra.
2) Leave a little hollow space between the two palms.
3) At the beginning and at the end of the meditation, sit or stand for a while with your arms spread and raised to Heaven.

In the most common form of anjali mudra, the hands are held at the heart chakra with thumbs resting lightly against the sternum. The gesture may also be performed at the Ajna or brow chakra with thumb tips resting against the "third eye" or at the crown chakra (above the head). In some yoga postures, the hands are placed in anjali mudra position to one side of the body or behind the back.
