PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, OHIO — A burglar is lucky to be alive after being wounded while trying to rob an off-duty cop’s home.
According to the newspaper Columbus Dispatch, Sergeant Stephen Carr woke on Tuesday afternoon to the noise of breaking glass at his home on Gay Road in Pleasant Township, Ohio.
He went to see what was going on and found would-be burglar Jason Bosswell. Carr confronted him but was pushed back.
So the 15-year veteran grabbed his gun and shot Boswell in the torso.
Boswell fled the scene in a car but was tracked down by police. He later admitted to breaking into Carr’s home, reported the Columbus Dispatch.
Boswell’s injuries weren’t life threatening.
