Sonam Kapoor: 'A.R. Rahman gave me an identity with his music'

Sonam Kapoor, who is fondly known as the 'Masakali of Bollywood', is a huge fan of Oscar Award-winning music composer A.R.Rahman. Interestingly, it was Rahman who composed the music of 'Masakali' and he is once again giving music for yet another Sonam starrer, 'Raanjhanaa'. Talking about the 'Mozart of Madras', the fashionista said, "Rahman sir gave me a lease of life when he did 'Masakali', a lot of people don't even know me as Sonam Kapoor, they know me as 'Masakali' especially in the interiors. He gave me an identity with his music, with his song and with his melody. He adds life to everything he does because he is a true genius he is true master of his craft."
"I met him in a party and he was so modest, he asked my opinion on 'Raanjhanaa's music. I told him that I can't believe that you are asking me about your music, for someone like an A.R Rahman to say that it was spectacular. I'm just privileged and blessed that I have A.R.Rahman giving music for my film," she further added.
Sonam will be next seen in Aanand L Rai's 'Raanjhanaa' in which she'll star opposite South star Dhanush.
