The International Space Station (ISS) moves quite rapidly, clipping along at a pace of 5 miles per second, but NASA was, nonetheless, able to capture it on film.

Images taken from Newbury Park, California on December 17 show the mobile research facility making its way across the sun.
A composite of 10 of those frames was shared on NASA’s website on December 20.
The ISS, which currently houses 6 people and various scientific experiments, appears much like a tiny ant scrambling over a giant orange inflatable ball.
According to the agency, "Onboard as part of Expedition 50 are: NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Peggy Whitson: Russian cosmonauts Andrey Borisenko, Sergey Ryzhikov, and Oleg Novitskiy: and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Thomas Pesquet."
