Lost city dating back 2,500 years ago discovered in Greece

Archaeologists discovered a mysterious ‘lost city’ in central Greece that is estimated to be nearly 2,500 years old. Researchers from the University of Gothenburg and the University of Bournemouth explored ruins in Vlochos, a nearby village north of Athens. While some of the ruins were already discovered, they had been dismissed as part of an irrelevant settlement on a hill. During the first two weeks of field work in September, researchers found ancient pottery and coins dating from 500 BC. A second field project is planned for August next year.
