On Tuesday morning, Kanye West visited Trump Tower for a brief meeting with the president-elect.
Citing an inside source, an E! News report states that “The ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper met with Trump to discuss becoming an ‘ambassador of sorts.’”
There is also said to have been talk about West taking on an “entrepreneurial leadership role.”
The source reportedly told E! News that the president-elect’s team proposed the meeting with the rapper because “Trump thinks he's a great role model when it comes to business.”
Meanwhile, West shared his own thoughts about the event in a series of tweets, stating, “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues. These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
He concluded by posting the unexplained tweet, “[hashtag] 2024.”
According to the New York Times, Trump has thus far been relatively quiet about the meeting, simply telling reporters at Trump Tower that the two have been long-time friends and that they talked about “life.”
