Yazidi survivors of IS torture win EU's Sakharov prize | DW News

After months of being tortured, the two Yazidi women Nadia Murad and Lamiya Aji Bashar escaped their IS captors and fled to Germany. Since then, they have been campaigning on behalf of hundreds of women and children still believed to be held by the jihadists. Now they'll be presented with the EU's top award for human rights - the Sakharov Prize.
