Authorities At Trump Tower Detain 'Emotionally Disturbed' Man Asking To Speak To Trump

On Friday night, security at Trump Tower detained an unarmed man named Roosevelt Pleas who entered the building and said he wanted to speak with the president-elect.
A man was taken into custody on Friday after entering Trump Tower and communicating his intention to speak with the president-elect.
The New York Daily News reports that 24-year-old Roosevelt Pleas, “entered the public atrium at Trump Tower about 10:30 p.m. Friday and willingly went through the security screening.”
The piece goes on to state that “as U.S. Secret Service agents screened him, he told them that he had just gotten a call from the President-elect and needed to speak to him right away. He also mumbled something about Trump's election victory.”
According to the New York Post, a source indicated that he wanted to talk to Trump “about election strategies.”
Authorities reportedly did not consider the unarmed man a credible threat to the president-elect, but did believe that he was emotionally disturbed and sent him to receive a psychiatric evaluation.
However, they later found that Pleas had at least one outstanding warrant which is expected to be addressed after his medical release.
Security at Trump Tower has been a top priority for the Secret Service with officials telling CNN recently that an internal proposal involves turning an entire floor of the building into a command post.
