Original "Layla" performed by Derek and the Dominoes
From the album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs"
Produced by for Polydor, Atco Records by Tom Dowd 1970

Writing credit for the song goes to both Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon. The piano outro or coda was written by both as each contributed to what is basically a A-B structure. Both ideas in contrasting keys were chosen.
I made this section the bulk of my interpretation as I consider this to be possibly the greatest musical achievement of the genre. Duane Allman contributed the slide guitar.
I hope you will accept this as a tribute to a work of art in music. I hope you enjoy a different take on what is one of the greatest songs in classic rock history.
