A brush fire closed all southbound and northbound lanes on Interstate 15 near San Diego, California, on Sunday, November 13.The Gopher Fire was originally reported near the Gopher Canyon Road at around 11 am Sunday, NBC San Diego reported. At least one firefighter was injured in the 28-acre blaze, which was about 50 percent contained as of Sunday evening.
This timelapse footage shows smoke plumes spewed up by the fire.
“About 40 minutes after the initial report of the fire, I was headed southbound on the I-15, and at the last minute, got off the freeway and took the old highway 395 in hopes of getting close enough to the fire to get some pictures or a timelapse,” the uploader told Storyful. “As the sun backlit the smoke and created a gold light everywhere that I could see, I watched this fire until it seemed contained before continuing on home.” Credit: Isaac Gibbs via Storyful
