Kellyanne Conway Says Trump May Convene A 'Special Session' On Inauguration Day To Repeal Obamacare

On Sunday, Kellyanne Conway, Trump's former campaign manager, told Chris Wallace of Fox News that the president-elect has 'talked about convening a special session' to repeal Obamacare.
In the months leading up to the presidential election, Donald Trump said in his rallies and interviews, that if elected, he'd repeal Obamacare very quickly.
On Sunday, Kellyanne Conway, Trump's former campaign manager, reiterated that message when she told Chris Wallace of Fox News that Trump, "...has talked about convening a special session on January 20 after he is sworn in as President of the United States to do this very thing, to repeal and replace Obamacare. It'd be a pretty remarkable move."
However, CNN notes, "It's unclear why Trump would need a 'special session,' since Congress is in session year-round, unlike state legislatures that meet a few months out of the year and are at times convened under special circumstances."
There's also a question about whether the president-elect would repeal or amend Obamacare.
As the Wall Street Journal reports, Trump may be willing to compromise on some aspects of the Affordable Care Act after his meeting with President Obama.
During his interview with the Journal, the media outlet notes, "Mr. Trump...showed a willingness to preserve at least two provisions of the health law after the president asked him to reconsider repealing it during their meeting at the White House on Thursday. Mr. Trump said he favors keeping the prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of patients’ existing conditions, and a provision that allows parents to provide years of additional coverage for children on their insurance policies."
