Donald Trump was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007, but it has, as of late, been targeted by vandals.

KNBC reports that a witness said "...he saw a man dressed as a construction worker hammering the star with either a sledgehammer or axe."
The destruction occurred at some point between Tuesday night and early Wednesday, and authorities are investigating the case.
Deadline Hollywood has reportedly identified the alleged perpetrator as Jamie Otis and reports that according to the suspect, his intention was to remove the star completely.
The alleged plan was to put it up for sale and use the proceeds to aid the women who say Trump groped them.
While the suspect was unsuccessful in fully dislodging the star, he was able to break the medallion at its center free and chip away chunks of stone.
