MCLEAN, VIRGINIA — The candy gods have answered all our prayers, as M&M’s unveils a new flavor next year that proves there is still goodness in the world. Chocolatey goodness.

For the first time since the brand was established 75 years ago, the M&M’s crew has decided to fill their candies with something soft and gooey for a change, reports CNN Money.

The new M&M’s flavor will have a luscious caramel center covered in milk chocolate and encased in the candy’s trademark crunchy, colorful shell.

Unlike pumpkin spice or carrot cake, the new flavor is going to be a permanent item, and the company’s gateway to the booming $2.2 billion dollar caramel business.

M&M’s have never before been filled with such a soft center, so engineers spent two years perfecting the consistency so that the chocolate would not collapse from being too soft or too sticky. The company also built a new plant in Topeka, Kansas to make the tasty morsels.

The caramel candies are set to hit the shelves by May 2017, according to an M&M’s press release.
