Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 banned from all US flights

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be banned from all US airline flights beginning October 15th at 12pm ET. The Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation handed down the order Friday. We recognize that banning these phones from airlines will inconvenience some passengers, but the safety of all those aboard an aircraft must take priority. We are taking this additional step because even one fire incident inflight poses a high risk of severe personal injury and puts many lives at risk. Devices won't be allowed on airplanes even when turned off. Dozens of the recalled phones have been catching fire, including one on a Southwest Airlines jet that was parked at the gate.
