Protests in Charlotte After Police Release Full Video of Keith Scott Shooting

Citizens of Charlotte continued to take to the streets in response to the fatal police shooting of unarmed African American Keith Scott on Tuesday after a week of protests have rocked the city after the release of full police dash-cam and body-cam footage of Lamont’s death.

A march and a candlelight vigil were held to honour the deceased 43-year-old, as well as protester Justin Carr, who was shot dead during demonstrations against Scotts’ killing in unconfirmed circumstances.

The previous scale of protests and riots in response to the shooting prompted North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory to deploy the National Guard and declare a state of emergency, which has since been rescinded.
