Rod Temperton: Thriller songwriter dead at 66

Rod Temperton, the British songwriter behind Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Rock With You, has died at the age of 66 after a brief battle with cancer. Warner/Chappell CEO Jon Platt made the announcement Wednesday, adding that Temperton's funeral was private. He was the sole writer of multiple successful songs such as MJ's 'Thriller' and Heatwave's 'Always & Forever' and 'Boogie Nights.'
