The safety of condoms has been much debated, though it is widely believed to to be a safe bet. The only immediate problem could be for those who are allergic to latex, which is the more commonly used material for condoms. Latex allergy can have side effects on the users, such as running nose, drop in the blood pressure, and spasm of the respiratory tract. Though these side effects are rare, one can play safe by using condoms made of polyurethane or lambskin; these do not tend to cause allergic reactions. Condoms are efficient in nature if the user takes all the precautions in wearing one. The user needs to be careful to see that the condom is neither too lose, nor too tight, and must always use them. One cannot really say that condoms are full proof, but none the less they have good efficacy.
