On Monday, three schools in the suburbs of Philadelphia went into lockdown following reports of gunfire.

It turns out the exploding sound heard was likely just bubble wrap being popped.

Authorities received the incident call, which was placed by an Eastern University student housed on the property of the Valley Forge Military Academy and College, at roughly 6 p.m.

Shortly after, those 2 schools and nearby Cabrini University went into emergency mode.

Armed authorities performed a search but found no evidence that a weapon had been fired, and the lockdown was soon lifted.

Bubble wrap was later declared as the probable source of the sound.

Eastern University posted to Facebook about the incident, writing, “…thankful this event was not an actual gun related situation. The student took the correct action in calling 911."
