On Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto participated in a rather amicable meeting, notes The Telegraph.
By that evening, the goodwill had dissipated.
ABC News reports that just a few hours after the meeting, Trump went to Phoenix to deliver a campaign speech in which he resumed his tough talk regarding immigrants from the neighboring nation and the building of a wall.
Not long after, Peña Nieto appeared on a television interview, saying Trump’s plans, “...could represent a huge threat to Mexico.”
The Mexican president continued, “…I am not prepared to keep my arms crossed and do nothing."
According to Politico, Peña Nieto also made it clear he has absolutely no intention of paying for Trump’s wall along the United States-Mexico border.
