Honduras: Increasing Layoffs of Public Workers

The layoff of public employees has been widespread under the current Honduran government Juan Orlando Hernandez. unions say as many as 20,000 people have lost their jobs, as the Honduran government has shrunk to unprecedentedly levels. the state telephone, energy and water companies have closed or been privatized and many other companies and state offices have been considerably reduced. the state has also launched an assault on unions and workers.
