Nine-year-old Ira Saxena from the U.K. has been sneezing around 8,000 times a day for the past few weeks, and doctors have not yet been able to figure out why.

Sneezing is a common bodily function, but there is a young girl in the U.K. who suffers through about 8,000 a day, and doctors haven’t yet figured out why.
Nine-year-old Ira Saxena began sneezing last month at a rate of about ten times a minute, according to the New Zealand Herald.
Her mother Priya notes, “Three weeks ago she just woke up sneezing and she has not stopped. It started slowly and has progressed to become more constant and violent.”
The girl has since been unable to attend school and struggles with related bodily pains, reports the Daily Mail.
No cause has been determined thus far, as allergies and a cold have reportedly been ruled out, and common treatments like antihistamines and steroids have been ineffective.
Priya adds, “The doctors are saying it is possibly an incorrect signal being sent from her brain or a tic, but nobody can be sure.”
The girl has only stopped sneezing for a prolonged period while sleeping and during a hypnotherapy session, reports the Mirror.
The family is currently exploring homeopathic solutions.
