Police: Lockdown at Capitol complex has been lifted

A lockdown at the U.S. Capitol Building as a result of suspicious activity has been lifted, according to authorities. Police were investigating a report of a man with a gun and had a vehicle stopped about two blocks north of the Capitol Building. Two people were taken into custody D.C. police said a weapon was recovered from the vehicle. An email to Capitol staff said police activity was reported on Capitol Hill. The email urged staff to lock and stay away from windows and external doors and to take shelter.
