Abdul Sattar Edhi (1 January 1928 – 8 July 2016)

Abdul Sattar Edhi (Urdu: عبدالستار ایدھی‎; 1 January 1928 – 8 July 2016) was a prominent Pakistani philanthropist, social activist, ascetic and humanitarian. He was the founder and head of the Edhi Foundation in Pakistan and ran the organization for the better part of six decades. He was known as Angel of Mercy and was also considered a living legend before his death.
