00:00Tell me, anybody remember what day this is?
00:07I don't even know what month it is.
00:10It's Thanksgiving.
00:12Oh, great. We sure got a lot to be thankful for this year.
00:18You know, I remember back in Kansas.
00:21Did I ever tell you I come from Kansas?
00:25When I was a kid back on the farm, Thanksgiving was a big day.
00:30It took Mother about a week, ten days to get ready for it.
00:33I could still see Mother in the kitchen turning out pumpkin pies with a crusted melon in your mouth.
00:40Cakes, chocolate and vanilla icing.
00:44Then about four o'clock in the afternoon we'd all sit down.
00:47Father would say grace and we'd pitch in.
00:50Turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy.
00:56Plum pudding and hard sauce.
00:58Knock it off. What are you trying to do?
01:00Yeah, what are you trying to do? Drive us nuts?
01:04Making us remember things like that?
01:06Keep remembering them.
01:08Those good things about home and family.
01:12Things like Thanksgiving.
01:14Because then when Comrade's son starts hammering at you guys about how good the Red Idea is
01:20and how stinking America is, you can look him right in the eye and laugh at him for the liar he is.
01:26I'm sorry. I should have known.
01:28Forget it, Merrill.
01:31Well, it may not be turkey with all the fictions, but it's still Thanksgiving.
01:39Heavenly Father, bless this food, such as it is, and this day.
01:47We have much to be thankful for.
01:51We're men living together who have learned to trust each other and to suffer together
01:59and have learned to share the good and the bad together.
02:03There is no one among us who would take advantage of his friends
02:07nor seek to benefit by their misfortune.
02:11For this, we give thee thanks. Amen.
