A Michigan Court of Appeals panel has ruled that Barbara Pellow should be liable for up to $2 million in damages related to a fire her boyfriend caused in 2012 when he tried to cook a squirrel he had caught; the decision overturns a previous lower court ruling limiting her financial responsibility to just over $15,000.
