It’s a great time to be Disney as Marvel is crushing the box office reaching the $10 billion milestone from 13 films over the course of nine years Captain America: Civil War’s estimated worldwide total surpassed $940 million Disney acquired Marvel Studios in 2009 after Marvel released Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk the first two movies of what is now referred to as the Marvel Cinematic Universe Since then, Marvel has released at least one movie a year, two a year since 2011
