SEATTLE — Three body parts found Saturday in a recycling bin have been tentatively identified by police as those of a mother of three reported missing by family members after apparently going out on a date with someone she met online.

Seattle police said at a Monday news conference they had taken 37-year-old John Robert Charlton into custody in Snohomish County and booked him into the King County Jail for investigation of homicide.

The victim was identified as Ingrid Lyne, 40, a nurse at Swedish Medical Center.

The Seattle Times reported that friends said Lyne went on a date, during which she was planning to watch Friday's Seattle Mariners game.

Lyne's friends said she was supposed to collect her children Saturday morning but didn't. She was reported missing by family members just after 10 a.m., according to KIRO 7

Lyne's silver 2015 Toyota Highlander SUV was reported stolen, while her cellphone, wallet and other personal items were found at her home in Renton.

The body parts were discovered by a homeowner around 4 p.m. Saturday. He had returned from an out of town trip when he spotted something disturbing in his recycling bin, KIRO 7 reported. He asked another neighbor to verify what he was seeing and they called 911.

Police on the scene found the human remains packaged inside plastic bags and dumped in the bin.
