Cal State Northridge at UC Riverside, 01-16-07

CSUN defeats the Highlanders 66-62 on the road. Here are some highlights. Playing without an injured Calvin Chitwood, the Matadors put forth a poor effort, before finally waking up at the end and emerging victorious. Deon Tresvant had 20 points, shooting 6-for-7 from three-point range in the second half. Josh Jenkins had 14 points and 6 assists. Jonathan Heard struggled against UCR double-teams, but managed to score 8 points and grab 12 rebounds, playing the last few minutes hurt after a vicious cheap shot by punk-ass bitch B.J. Visman. Walk-on sophomore Tony Osunsanmi had 6 rebounds in only 16 minutes of play.

The win moves the Matadors to 13-3 on the season, 5-0 in the Big West. Bobby Braswell's team is in sole possession of first place. They won't have another conference game until Jan. 26, when they face Long Beach State in the Matadome at 4 p.m. in a game that will be televised on Fox Sports Prime Ticket. Before that, they have a tough road game at Chicago State on Tuesday.

The game was closer than I thought it'd be, and my duties as a fan take precedence over my camera work, so I didn't get a lot of footage. Hopefully I can get more from an outside source later.
