Germany Beats Argentina To Win The World Cup Final
The game between Argentina and Germany was going to be intense. Both teams were not going to give up a win easily. That's why it wasn't surprising when the game went 90 minutes without either team scoring!
The teams would play for 30 additional minutes and then engage in a shootout if no one scored. However, it wasn't until 113 minutes that Germany would make a move. Mario Götze stunned Argentina with an unbelievable goal that sailed right past Argentina's goalkeeper. That goal marked Mario's 11th goal in this year's World Cup, but this one is the onehe'll always be remembered for.

Lionel Messi was chosen as the Golden Ball winner for the 2014 World Cup. The award is handed out to the player voted as the tournament's best. However, it came after a losing effort against Germany in the final.
Messi turned 27 during this summer's tournament. He has spent the past handful of years carrying an extremely heavy burden for both Argentina and Barcelona, his club side, and there were times during the tournament when you could see that was taking its toll.

Manuel Neuer was already considered by many to be the best goalkeeper in the world. Now he can officially be considered the best goalkeeper at the 2014 World Cup after winning the Golden Glove award.
Colombia forward James Rodriguez won the Golden Boot for finishing as the top scorer at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
The 23-year-old, who plays for Monaco, scored six goals in five matches as his side reached the quarter-finals, where they lost to hosts Brazil.
Rodriguez finished ahead of Germany forward Thomas Muller, who netted five goals as his side won the tournament.
Argentina's Lionel Messi, who won the Golden Ball for the tournament's best player, was in a tie for third.

Alongside Yohann Cabaye and Blaise Matuidi, he consistently demonstrated his power and ball-winning skills, as well as his excellent technique, dribbling ability and great footballing brain.
