Final Assignment (1980)

Sparks fly between Nicole, a Western journalist on assignment in the Soviet Union, and government liaison Lyosha, who has been shadowing Nicole during her visit. Without Lyosha's awareness, Nicole tries to smuggle out a young girl who desperately needs a medical procedure, enlisting the help of wealthy Zak. She also discovers that children are being subjected to experiments that would draw the ire of the world -- if she can get the facts out.
