Report: Spike In 2015 Pedestrian Deaths

A new report issued by the Governors Highway Safety Association has found that, based on preliminary figures, there appears to be a 10 percent spike in the number of pedestrian deaths from the first half of 2015 compared to the same period the previous year.
The roads were more dangerous for pedestrians last year, according to preliminary estimates from the Governors Highway Safety Association.
In fact, Richard Retting, one of the authors of the new report is quoted in a news release as saying, “We are projecting the largest year-to-year increase in pedestrian fatalities since national records have been kept, and therefore we are quite alarmed.”
