Men with visibly muscular builds are perceived to better leaders than men who appear physically weaker, according to research from the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
The study was based on a series of experiments wherein males were tested for their physical strength and then photographed.
Those images were then judged by other participants for qualities such as leadership and effectiveness within a group setting. The researchers also controlled for height, attire, and physical attractiveness to make sure strength was the foremost factor being considered.
