The California Department of Transportation, also known as Caltrans, recently made short work of a boulder on U.S. Highway 50.
The 20-ton chunk of rock slid down a hill onto what the agency calls a "rugged, rural road," about 80 miles east of Sacramento on January 14th.
Caltrans crews were sent to the area, secured it and blew it up.
Video released by Caltrans shows the controlled explosion at regular speed and in slow-motion.
