Summer TV 2015- Deutschland 83 (Sundance) Theme Song (Title Sequence)

For those in the dark, Deutschland 83 is the first ever German TV show airing on a U.S. television network - Sundance TV. It premiered on 17 June 2015 and tells the story of a young GDR soldier, who is sent to West Germany to spy on the enemy in 1983, at the height of the Cold War scare between East/West. I'm sure it's thanks to American co-screenwriter Anna Winger that the story doesn't end up being the usual drab and over-intellectualized German production, but a fast-paced, funny, at times nail-bitingly gripping, but overall wholly engrossing TV experience.

All this is accompanied with an enjoyable soundtrack with hits of the 80s, so it's nostalgia galore for those remembering the decade :) The theme music here is the English version 'Major Tom (Coming Home)' by Peter Schilling.

The series premiered on 26 November in Germany on RTL TV.
