Young baby boy bitten by King Cobra, Incredible snake vs Indian child.
Cobras for kids? Is this 2015's must have children's pet?
I woke up this morning to find a video of a baby barely 1 years old lying on a blanket with a cobra.
The description made sure to point out that the Cobra and the baby were playing together, and the though the Cobra was clearly striking at the child, it was not biting it.
Immediately my bullshit detector went off, this is clearly a hoax, maybe a bit of After Effects magic, something. No responsible parent in their right mind would put their child next to a venomous cobra.
So Hoax or not?
Time for some questions:
1. Is the video real and documented child abuse?
2. How dangerous are cobras and do they make great household pets?
3. The cobra is clearly pissed, so why isn't it biting the shit out of that little kid?

According to an article on the website the Inquisitr, the video is real .
The original uploader on Youtube Vinod Rajagopal claims that this is a tribal thang and not child abuse.

The snake in the video is definitely a Cobra as you can tell by its flaring its “hood” when agitated.
You can find them being used by snake charmers in India because of the dramatic flaring of the hood during performances.
Its real name is cobra-de-capelo which translates to Snake with hood and there are anywhere from 28- 270 different species of Cobras depending on how you define them.
Cobras are highly venomous and their bites are often fatal, especially when left untreated.
#3 Why isn't it biting the shit out of that little kid?
Well there is a village in the Mahrashtra state of India where in the ceiling rafters of each house there is a resting place for live Cobras. And even though you can find cobas moving among humans in their houses daily, there has been no case of a cobra biting a villager.
Is that what's going on in these videos/
No, the reason the children are not getting bit by any of these snakes is because all of their teeth have been ripped from their tiny slits known as mouths and all of their venom has been extracted.
Why? Because apparently Crocodiles don't live in this region and its safer than having their children surfing the net. So, This allows for all kinds of family fun where the only thing traumatized in the whole thing is the snake.
After concerns of child and/or animal abuse being brought up the aforementioned youtuber who's name I dare not try to say again....responded by saying.
“Looking at the video from your point of view, i can feel your concern.. because you have been brought up very differently.. but believe me, this is not at all child abuse… and its not at all dangerous..These people are tribals. The snake is defanged and has no poison whatsoever. These people actually worship snakes and the children actually grow up playing with snakes.
This isn’t animal abuse either because most of these snakes are ones that have been “rescued” from lands that were previously jungle but have now been turned into concrete jungles…If you visit these villages, you will find children walking around with snakes in their hands, you’ll find snakes comfortably sleeping inside the house with the families. The villagers feed the snakes and take care of them like their own child.
Well the only time you find children that are defanged and devenomed in the US is when traveling throughout the South. Funny thing, that's where they worship snakes too.
But the rest of us Civilized folks, when it comes to treating a pet like its our own child, the worst thing we might do is cause it some self-image issues.
