एक बार राजा विक्रमादित्य ने एक महाभोज का आयोजन किया। उस भोज में असंख्य विद्धान, ब्राह्मण, व्यापारी तथा दरबारी आमंत्रित थे। भोज के मध्य में इस बात पर चर्चा चली कि संसार में सबसे बड़ा दानी कौन है?
