Padasana is a kind of yoga posture that is a great way of strengthening the abdomen. This also is a good exercise during pregnancy.

Meaning :

Pada means legs and asana means posture. So Padasana means a yoga pose with the legs.

Technique :

One starts Padasana by lying on the back and by swinging the legs across at a right angle. The foot at such times is perpendicular to the ground and then comes back to the ground again.

One usually performs this asana in the mornings.

Technique :

Padasana is usually done by lying on the back and pressing the back on the ground.
Stretch the legs above and spread them through the feet and the toes.
Hold the toes together and pull them away from the thighs.
Pay attention t the sides and stretch in such a way that you are not towards the wall.
Remember to relax in the groin area.
The chest and the abdomen swell during this yoga pose.
The arms go up such that they touch the sides of the ears.
Breathe out and keep the buttocks on the ground and lift only the heels.
Now you may release the toes and do the asana by interlocking it in the other way.
