The National Folk Culture Museum in Mexico City’s Coyoacan district is featuring a colorful exhibit entitled “Between Hay and Straw: Nativity Scenes from Mexico and the World.” Over a hundred pieces from Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa are on display, as well as creations from 16 states in Mexico. The pieces that are crafted from simple materials such as soap, cardboard, clay, straw and cornhusks, reflect cultural diversity and allow visitors to see the nativity through different lenses.
